Sailing for everyone

Inclusive sailing program developed together with the Federació Catalana de Vela that wants to help clubs and trainers to make the sport of sailing accessible to everyone, without exception.

Goals

Promotion of adapted sailing by improving the offer of courses and sailing activities for people with any level of functional diversity.

Training of technical staff and offering greater professional support while updating the best practice guides.

Promotion of athletes in this area, organization of the Spanish Open Championship of Hansa and realization of practical training clinics.

Kakapo Open Race

The Federació Catalana de Vela, the Barcelona Capital Nàutica Foundation and the Mi Alex Foundation are organizing the first edition of the Kakapo Open Race, an international adapted sailing regatta that seeks to attract athletes of this type to Barcelona and that has the will to celebrate it every year.

The regatta will take place from July 15 to 20 in front of the BISC.

Capable of Everything

This project is carried out together with the Federació Catalana de Vela and collaborates with Mi Fundació Alex. Together we will provide all the necessary support to Catalan clubs so that they can include inclusive sailing among their range of activities.

Don’t know what inclusive sailing is all about?
We invite you to watch the interview of the Televisió de Catalunya program “Capacitats” that they did to the adapted sailing athletes Aina Gelpí and Jordi Cargol. (catalan)
