Paraules Salades is a space where we can share our two great passions: the sea and literature through “Mar de Llibres”
Si sabessis el mar com és bonic
“If you knew how beautiful the sea is” is a book about myths and legends, about mermaids and fishermen, and lost knowledge and wisdom that wants to be recovered. A story by Gemma Calduch about isolation and loneliness in a small fishing village.
This is her first novel, where the sea is both the source of livelihood for the inhabitants of the port, a mysterious force and the setting for the oldest myths.
The literary cycle
Paraules Salades is a series of literary talks designed for all those who love the sea, whether they are experienced sailors, sailing enthusiasts or simply people fascinated by the ocean and its cultural legacy. These meetings explore the relationship between literature and the sea through conversations with authors, specialists and lovers of literature. Hosted by Marta Sangrà de Mar de Llibres, Paraules Salades offers a space for reflection and discovery about the magic of words and the immensity of water. Entry is free subject to reservation.
Next sessions
In the first session on March 6 at 6:30 p.m., we will talk with Capucine Trochet, navigator and author of Tara Tari, a story about the sea and resilience, a story about the search for freedom beyond the confines of the ocean.
In addition, we will also have the presence of Tomy Pelluz, founder of Almayer, a publishing house on maritime literature that has just been born, whose name is due to Joseph Conrad and his first work: The Madness of Almayer.
Ara, i cada demà
This session of Paraules Salades will revolve around Glòria Gasch’s novel “Ara, i cada demà”. In a vindication of the epistolary genre, Gasch tells us about first love while discovering the most hidden corners of the Mediterranean. In this novel, navigation becomes a learning space and the sea is shown to us from its most beautiful, but also deceptive, side.
The host
Marta Sangrà is a lover of letters and a sailor who loves to get lost in the pages of the classics of nautical literature, while discovering the most current writers. She is the author of the profile “Mar de llibres” where you can find literary recommendations for all tastes and also a few drops of salt water!
